Woo Hooo! Glad to have you join us here, becca. I've actually done something with frames.....I've made trays and posted pictures. But scatterbrain me went to the link where I thought they were and all I found was me talking about it. Go to my photoalbum at the bottom of my post and look in the one called furniture......pretty sure that's the one.
::)In the meantime I'm going to hunt them down here
I like to use frames like that to frame my primitive stitcheries! They're actually quite simple and don't take a really artistic person to make them. You just need some muslin (double it so you can't see the threads), some embroidery floss in the colors you want, an embroidery needle (has a larger head so you can get the floss in there easily) and a hoop (got mine at the TS for $.25). Take a pencil and draw out what you want to make...a simple idea is to just find a really nice saying that you like! Follow the lines until you complete you work, cut to fit in the frame and frame it. I like to coffee stain mine to get that aged look and you can also do outlines and fill in pictures with paint to add color to your design! There are free patterns out there to get you started, too!
