I'm very excited about my find, even though I bought them. 8 of these for 20$ makes them 2.50 each and no tax at the thrift store. Even dd#2 was telling me to "calm down, Mom" because I was just so excited. I think my best find to date. Those are CD's in one square, it's metal, very reflective and pretty lightweight.

Darling Karebear!! All I've got to say is You get around Way too much if you can identify this. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
And I mean that as a compliment, you know that right?
YES those light thingys. They were right next to the florescent fixtures and there were only 2 of the plexiglass, or whatever, diffusers there. HEY.....maybe I should go and get one and make a door of sorts for one of these? They did have a thin frame already. In the top it doesn't show well, but each "cubby" can hold 10 regular size CD cases. Hmmmmm.....OR 21 slim jewel cases. Back to the bank today and I'll see if those are still there. I gotta do this, man. I'm really juiced now!
Lucky, at first I was thinking shadowboxes-like but then I'm thinking........Put a door on it and make a cupboard for beanie babies, put it in the garage for me. If I frame them out and put a back on them I might can sell them too. See what happens when you all make me think!!!
It's metal but I won't be putting anything too heavy in them.

Capital One had these on every light. They are so annoying when you have to work on a computer all day. Lousy light, really. But for CD's? Geddouddahere. That was the Sopranos, which I've never seen in my life, and I probably spelled it wrong.
Never seen them either. And I'd'v never known what they were if they hadn't been right next to the lamps. But I know they would have kept bugging me because they're so familiar. The nagging in the brain and all.
Told dh what I found and sent him a picture. He asked me what I was going to make with IT. And I said what do you mean, IT? There's 7 more in the garage. He just sighed.
Okay. Guess what I got today. Ya know, me in a thrift store is like the average woman at a Mall Sale. There were only 2 of those covers, and they're pretty flexible. I'll have to see about making them stronger but not heavier. I'll let y'all know if it works. When I get tuit.
Then I saw the chairs. You all know the kind. We've sat in them so many times, waiting for the doctor. Stiff. Straight backs, no arm rests. Actually, the nicer offices probably wouldn't even touch these. I'm just used to military hospitals and clinics. Not a couch but 3 cushion seats, 3 cushion backs, Welded frame, 4 legs. And No Holes or tears in the vinyl ! 20$. Oh, and then 3 long black cushions in the same color and condition plus a long strong bench for 15$. The couch-thingy is getting wiped down and cleaned and I'm making my strapping son haul it in tonight. and my bench/pew is going out! No one sits on it. Too narrow for my big butt and way too hard ;D
Oh. Sorry. It's black. With stainless or chrome. Now my son want one for his room. And I'm thinking that could be a good investment. Told him, tho, that if there's 1 left it'll probably be the red one with the most tears. He says......that's what duct tape is for ;D kid's learning..........either that or red neck is rubbing off on him.
Took a pic of it (as well as my mobile for another post) but I've met my quota of messaging in my package deal on cellphone that's why I can't email my pictures to myself from the phone right now, as I've always been doing. and that's another reason for wanting a decent digicamera. I'll post the pix around monday, billing starts over. Won't have tax money back by then for camera I'm a slow-poke.

Sounds really cool. Good to see you're rubbing off on the kids, too. Crafty, Jr. is coming for the weekend and I think we will make book purses. Or try to, since I've never made them before. I told DH that we will do recycle crafts ONLY every time she visits. That will teach her great lessons, I feel. If the purse thing doesn't work out, I'm hunting softballs, like Nona's!
you know with the camera situation something else you could try- use a regular camera and when you get them developed have them put on a disk. Then you can download them to the computer and go from there. With one hour photo it doesn't take long, but the downside is not knowing how well the photo turned out til you've spent the money to have it developed. Not quite instant gratification, but closer!
I've done that already and you're so right. If somethings wrong it's a hassle to go and get it redone. The pictures I took of my glass finds and the close-up of the jewelry holder are examples of my mistakes. Over exposed because I didn't compensate for the sun's reflection off the towels. And being the stingy person I am, I don't want to waste pictures so I need to use up a whole roll of 25
But there's still something fun and almost magical about picking up developed pictures and seeing how they turned out.
