You guys the responses to the Motivational Thread are really good..... I propose a challenge.
Take a project.. any project and get it done. It can be new from scratch or (even better) that one (of many) that you never finished! Let's get started.. I want to see a pix post by the end of the month ... if not sooner! Part 2 to the challenge will be a surprise... Let's see how many sign on...
Hmmm what could I finish....

Consider me signed up!!! I am so disgusted with myself as I cannot seem to get motivated lately. I am so full of ideas but always put off starting. Once I start, I can't wait to see the end product so I don't understand what is wrong with me. This will help I think!!
I cleaned up an old wooden window frame while I took my shower this morning. Hey, might as well kill two birds with one stone! I have rose prints that I'm going to put in the openings. Do you think I should put them behind the glass or on top of the glass with some kind of protective coating on them? I'm planning to paint the wood shabby pink.
Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I finished a project today. I started a "Recycle The World Motivation Challenge" album just for this. Hubby drank the wine (not all today) and I took the bottles. He had to admit he liked them after he criticized how short the plug in portion of the cord was. I gave him the "look" and informed him the lights came that way. He has been treading on thin ice for a while now and it just cracked a little more. LOL

Right now my challenge is just getting the newly vacated back bedroom cleaned out. Sonny Boy finally came and got his snakes Sunday night, so at least those two tanks are out of there. I'm trying to get what he has left here organized so I can get it stowed in the closet in the bird room. So far, I've got one huge storage box of his childhood toys, another with a mix of toys and books, and one or two more with baby stuff (blankets, clothes, stuff animals, baby books...).
We did get our storage unit cleared out and closed out (after 4 1/2 years!!!), so that was a BIGGIE! #1 Son took all of his baby/childhood stuff home with him, and he and his wife and the kiddies have been having a ball going through all of his stuff. He's been able to pass some stuff down to GBBoy already... some of his clothes and stuff animal things. How much fun to see GBBoy wearing and playing with things HIS daddy wore and played with. He's got loads of trucks, cars, and other playthings for him as he gets older. Lots of Ninja Turtles and the like... LOL
Once we get our taxes filed and hopefully get a bit of money back, I'll be able to move upward and onward!!!
Proud of all of you who have tackled some projects... I'll get there!!! (*"*)
Those bottles are beautiful! Did you drill a hole for the cord or run it from the top? I still have my champagne bottle from my wedding I've saved for 14 years! Didn't know why I saved it 'til now! My contribution to the challenge: to get my craft area organized. I have slowly been clearing out a huge walk in closet while at the same time moving all my crafts stuff in. Unfortunately theres more in then out and I've hit a roadblock! I've been so overwhelmed by the whole thing that I haven't crafted anything lately. Does that count as signing up? I don't think I could finish anything 'til I get this done!
Thank you so much for the compliments on the wine bottles. I will post a pic later today with them lit. I ran the cord out the top of the bottle. I cut a v in the cork to allow room for it in the top and pushed the cord into the v. It keeps the cord from moving around. I want to put them in the gift shop where I take things for consignment and I thought they might sell better if the lights or a bulb would be easy to change if you have to. I attached a little note giving instructions for the changing of the lights or replacing a bulb. I have tried drilling holes and even though I have a diamond bit, it is slow going and I broke at least 1 out of 2 because of my impatience. I got the idea for them on the HGTV Holiday Board before Christmas but hadn't done one until yesterday.
Very nice bottles! I have a few to do myslef... got them from freecycle last year.
Anywho - I am SO proud of you guys! You are so great. I am starting my project today... or hopefully finishing it. YES there is a part 2.. to this challenge.. however, i wont let the cat out of the bag until later this week.. say Friday!
Babybee - does the character KRAMER from Seinfeld mean anything to you? Remember he washed his lettuce while in the shower!!! Ha-ha.. But atleast yours wasn't edible.. Well not to us here on this board.. there are daredevils who do chew glass! 2 Cheers for the most ingenious use of time management and creative multi-tasking!
I'm definitely in although as a newbie to forums I have a lot to learn - how to post pics is my big challenge altho how difficult can it be?? guess I'll find out. My other challenge is taking before pics and the current project which I started after beginning forumming (is that a word?) does not have before pics cause I forgot until I was well into it. Oh well it was basically an unpainted piece so not so imp. END OF THE MONTH!!!that's only one week away. Guess I will have to put nose to the ?paint can?? Umm... not so much time for online - I may suffer withdrawal. Gotta go and forum until my paint dries. Lucky
OK I lied, I could get something finished before the big cleanup! I made a seed bead bracelet and am gonna list it on etsy. One problem though, my camera is taking extremely blurry pics. Tried cleaning it, adjusting how close I was, shutting it down and trying again. Is there a way to adjust anything on the computer. I know it downloaded a bunch of stuff when I put the program on this computer, so maybe something there is screwey? Any suggestions?

Well, we've pretty much got all of Sonny Boy's stuff out of his former room. Hubby's moved his office out of our bedroom into HIS new room. It's still got some stuff that's going to be going... the daybed/trundle, the end tables that I have to redo for the living room, and a few misc. boxes...
I have spent most of the day in MY room caulking and spackling the walls. I went yesterday and got my paint and all for MY room. A pretty yellow for the walls and white for the trim. I get it painted, THEN I've got to get the curtains and bedding sewn up! We're going to get some mattresses for the beds soon... found some at Mattress King for $79 each. Not too bad... Better than the $169 that the liquidators were asking for theirs!!! And THEIR mattresses were lesser quality...
OH, and guess where the headboard is?!?!? On my bedroom wall!!! It's going to be made into a faux fireplace at some point down the road...
We took the mirror off of the vanity I was using, (which I seriously bought JUST FOR THE MIRROR), and put it on the vanity that Hubby had been using for a desk, which it looks much better on... more the same style. Now I have a "Depression Era" vanity to either paint and use or take to the second hand store. I think I'm going to move things around and use it in the living room under a picture w/ side mirrors. Going to paint it black and add some gold touches to it... I think... LOL Right now I'm so sore I could cry... Going to go grab a bite to eat and then a shower, Tylenol PMs, and BED!!! (*"*)
