I was going to work on the garage today. It is now 95 degrees with a heat index of 102. Since I have the top half of the garage, today is a no-go. It is at least 115 up there and I'm scared to even turn on the AC. So I got a few things for a project and took pics of the progress thus far.
Awesome!! Incredible! and on angeled walls, no less. I'd be a worry wart about the shelves staying put. and thanks for all the shots. Thats the kind of thing I'd do.....all the different things you stow, and their visibility.
how did you attatch the jar lids? I'm thinkin screw and nut? I've thought of doing that before, but until seeing it, it didn't seem all that much of a space saver. I love the idea. My sis just gave me a case of those extra large ball canning jars with lids( she had two cases but could only fit one in the trunk) and I've been racking my brain on what to do with 'em. I'm off to drill holes in the closet! Thanks for all the pics, very inspiring!!
You could make "squirrel in a jar" feeders! There my big obsession this summer Parents recently moved up here and fell in love with the squirrels, but their dogs kept scaring 'em away. I built one and haven't been able to stop. They're always finding a new place in the yard they just HAVE to have one. 'Course they had to buy a place with acreage so I still haven't made one for me yet

It didn't take that long. I cut my shelves to fit snug in the brackets, so they wouldn't slip. Put the shelf on the floor (or across sawhorses so you don't break your back), put lids on 3 jars, spaced them out so there was enough room to get my hand in and open the jars (remember to leave room for your hand AND to get the jar out!), and screwed on all the lids. Then I just put the shelf on the bracket and added jars, one by one.
Don't stagger the jars, zig-zag like I did. Do them side by side. I forgot that the jar in back still has to squeeze between the 2 in front of it to get out. Does that make sense?
