Ok, I design necklaces and am always having an issue with traveling with my things to Bead groups or even around the house . My challenge is make a fold able bead table that has compartments for beads with a see through top that I can easily access them as I go along with a design. It has to fold and be easy to haul around.
Build a shallow box with compartments sized appropriately for whatever your beads. Use hooks, clips (not sure of this part unless I see what you are putting in there) to hold the necklaces in place. Use plexi as a hinged lid so you can see them without opening it or can open it easily. Put folding legs on the bottom. You might need to use cotton batting as padding so they don't shift around.
If you are doing craft shows and have a lot of necklaces to carry you could have several of these and take a folding table to set them on. In that case you could, instead of having legs on them, just have one folding flap underneath so the boxes slant for display.
Paint the inside of the box black or something that contrasts with the beads so they show well.
Always carry them top up so they don't get mixed - why would you turn them? Altho if you had the right kind of clips to hold them in place it wouldn't matter.
This is the best I can think of.....because I'm not an engineer .... Sterlite has all those plastic storage ideas, like for crafts, clothes, or office supplies. Consider the ones with the shallow drawers, they have them in 3-drawer and more. 1 that holds 12x12 papers is my fav.
Put inside each shallow drawer a plastic craft box, the kind that are about 8x14 and only 2'' deep. next to them in the drawer you can put tools and spools of cording, or put those in a clear school box, too.
They make small hand trucks for hauling luggage and you could bungie together the whole thing. I don't know yet what to use as a work surface.....but whatever it is could be behind the plastic container, safely secured until you need it.

I find that my beads work great in small organizers I get at dollar stores in a rolling suitcase. Most places I go (the few times I go to shows) I have tables provided. I was thinking...maybe taking a milkcrate or 2 and creating a table out of those with a few game boards on top...? Maybe line the table with some sort of bumper (cardboard) so it's easy to take around the house. I have a lack of table space so I've become quite the avid floor worker!
I don't know what they're called, but they are rectangle shaped and roll up to close them. There are clear zippered compartments that run the length of it and you roll it up in folds. Does that make sense? They velcro shut at the top when its rolled up and have handles to carry 'em. I use mine for everything including beads.

Must be woo-woo. I just thought of exactly the same thing. I can't remember their name, either. I think they were for carrying jewelry when you travel. Does that sound right? Sounds like something that could be made at home. Use old, clear shower curtains for the plastic?
